1 Jones Long Staple Cotton
A late maturing commercial variety of Upland cotton, staple about 3/16-in. and yield lint 29 to 30 per cent. 2 Cotton (Sakellaridis)
Sakellaridis. This is a variety of long-stapled cotton, similar to Joanovich. It came into prominence some years ago, and has gradually taken the place of Joanovich, to which it is in some respects superior. 3 Acme Cotton
Variety of raw cotton, grown in Mississippi; the staple is fairly long, but is of inferior quality. It is probably a mixture of some long-stapled variety and Sea Islands. Does not have any special value. -
4 Matthews Cotton
Commercial variety of very prolific, long staple, early maturing American cotton. Staple 11/8-in. to 11/2-in. and a yield of lint 29 per cent and over. The plant is very vigorous, bolls large, ovate and pointed and the yield is remarkably good for a long-stapled variety. -
